# FertilityMetrics > FertilityMetrics is a free, independent IVF clinic comparison site built on the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's National ART Surveillance System (NASS) data. We publish federally reported live birth rates, cycle volumes, donor cycle outcomes, single embryo transfer rates, cancellation rates, and quality indicators for all 458 reporting US fertility clinics. The site has no clinic partnerships, accepts no payment from clinics, and applies no editorial smoothing to the underlying data. ## About the data - Source: CDC ART Surveillance Report (NASS), 2022 reporting year — the most recent federal dataset available as of 2026 (CDC publishes on a standard 2-year lag). - Primary metric: live birth rate per intended retrieval, all patients, own eggs (CDC's headline measure). Used consistently across every page on the site. - Secondary metrics: 2-cycle cumulative live birth rate (new patients only), donor egg outcomes, single embryo transfer percentage, average retrievals per birth. - Coverage: 458 clinics across 52 US states and territories. National averages by age group: under 35 — 46.2%, 35–37 — 31.7%, 38–40 — 20.1%, over 40 — 5.6%. - Data caveat: CDC suppresses any age-group rate based on fewer than 20 cycles to protect patient privacy.
